Will the downtown jail and Irongate Work Center stay in Bellingham?

No. Both our downtown Bellingham jail and the Irongate Work Center would be replaced by one new Whatcom County Jail and behavioral care center located on LaBounty Dr. in Ferndale. Both current jails are at or beyond the end of their service life.
